With outdoor entertaining season arriving (slowly but surely!) you’ll need to make sure your wine + cheese skills are sharp and ready for barbecue and picnic season. We're here to help! La Cafette is partnering with Murray’s Cheese, the beloved artisanal cheese and fine food purveyor, to host a wine & cheese pairing class on Wednesday, April 10th at 7:00 pm.
French Wine expert Yann Bouey (Wineberry, Maison Bouey) will lead the 80-minute class; he’ll discuss French wine- and cheese-making traditions before diving into the main event, the 5 delicious pairings:

La Cafette has Wine Wednesday down to a science: one part cheese, one part bread, one part cozy candles...and of course, many parts wine. Williamsburg’s charming bistro La Cafette is partnering with Murray’s Cheese, the beloved artisanal cheese and fine food purveyor, to explore the delicious art of wine & cheese pairings on Wednesday, February 27th at 7:00 pm.
From Burgundy to Bordeaux to the peaks and valleys of the Loire and Pyrenees, wine expert and native Frenchman Yann Bouey (Wineberry, Maison Bouey) will begin the 80-minute course with a primer on the history of classic French wine- and cheese-making traditions.
The second portion of the class will include 5 wine and cheese pairings, including the following:
Sauvignon Blanc (White Sancerre) x Sainte-Maure
Chardonnay (White Burgundy) x Murray's Brie Fermier
Pinot Noir (Red Burgundy) x Epoisses
Cabernet Sauvignon (Bordeaux) x Comte

Bordeaux and Burgers

Hoping to make 2019 a year of exploration? Start things off right by traveling to the heart of France without splurging on a plane ticket. We’re debuting a new monthly class focused on French wine – the first installment Bordeaux and Burgers on Tuesday, January 15th promises to be a très chic and delicious evening.
Led by Yann Bouey, a French native from the team at Wineberry, the 80-minute class will start with an exploration of the rich culture and history of French wine. Yann’s family have been in the industry for decades (at Maison Bouey), so you can trust he knows his way around a wine list.
The following 40 minutes will be a tasting, during which Yann will introduce the diverse flavors of five Bordeaux Appellation wines: Saint Emilion, Graves, Margaux, Pauillac, and Sauternes – each wine will be paired with a different burger preparation.
Class participants must be 21 years of age of older to attend this event. Please bring a valid ID to the class.
